Alice In Wonderland Garden Wedding
I had the absolute pleasure of making this beautiful blackberry ruffled cake for a garden themed Alice in Wonderland wedding. I don’t know why, but I just LOVE making teeny tiny blackberries! I think they are just the cutest and OH so Oregon.
Jamie from Jamie Rae Photo really did an outstanding job on these shots! Everything really has this dreamy feel to it, just like you’re living in your own garden version of Alice in Wonderland. Everything is just so bright and colorful! Really happy with how these photos of my cake and the details show.
The flowers are all made out of sugar as well and let me tell you, that dahlia took a bit of time. You can actually see how I made this lovely cake and learn to make one for yourself in my upcoming book Artisan Cake Company’s Visual Guide to Cake Decorating, now available on Amazon for pre-sale. The book comes out in October, just in time for my birthday!
One of my favorite parts of this shoot is of course, the flowers! My friend Kim from Swoon Floral here in Portland is just amazing. I love everything she does! She is so adept at combining flowers with creative fillers and her colors are just WOW!
The details of this shoot where just so well thought out as well. Everything from the little clocks, the table settings and even the chairs. It all came together flawlessly! Something Borrowed PDX always has the best vintage rentals! If I could just decorate my entire house with all of their stuff, I would never leave my house and be perfectly happy.
The theme was Alice in Wonderland but the focus was on the garden aspect so gorgeous lush blooms, bright colors and pops of color abound. Everything took place at the gorgeous Historic Deepwood Estates in Salem. One of my all time favorite wedding venues. I have delivered there many times and I just love the outdoor garden area with all the winding trails and beautiful flowers everywhere!
I just love this new take on a super popular theme and could totally see this taken to even further. Lots of top hats and bow ties
