Every year, pantone announces a color of the year based off trends and they have just announced the pantone color of the year for 2013 is Emerald! Almost immediately you could see the bridal boards being created. Pinterest is flooded with greens and golds and I must say, I immediately jumped on board.

PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, is the Color of the Year for 2013.

Hailing from the green state (Oregon) I am in LOVE with this color. So many colors go with emerald! I chose to create a cake using soft pinks, gold silver leaf, emerald brush embroidery and a lot of lush and gorgeous floral from the amazingly talented Swoon Floral Design.  Swoon created this bouquet using pretty pink roses, lush greenery, succulents and touches of gold. This bouquet accented my cake so well, it is hard to believe I only sent her a sketch of my idea for this cake. It’s like she read my mind!
