Whew! What a mouthful! There was a lot to incorporate onto this birthday cake but I think I managed to get a cohesive look going on. This birthday cake was for a guy who loves his toys! Ugly Dolls are super popular in Portland and I’ve seen them everywhere but never on a cake! I was also asked to include Domo characters (super popular japanese cartoon), Star Wars characters and some Lego men.

The boombox was actually my favorite part. It needed to have a retro, funky look so I modeled it after an old retro boombox photo I found on the interwebs.

Each character presented it’s own challenges and rewards but I had a blast making every single one! Click on a thumbnail to view a larger detailed photo.
