Adrienne Cake
This is the cake I made for a beautiful bride named Adrienne.
Gorgeous isn’t she?
Adrienne had a clear vision about what she wanted from the beginning but at the last minute decided to change the tiers to all square and when I arrived at the wedding, her florist had set aside some bright green orchids rather than red poppies! Oh well, good thing I work well under pressure
Her wedding was at the Willamette Valley Vineyards here in Salem, OR so she wanted something grand enough to match the gorgeous ballroom it was being held in.
Since I used to be a graphic designer before I delved into the wonderful world of cake design, I conveniently know how to use very helpful programs such as Adobe Illustrator. So I am able to convey exactly what the bride and I discuss during the consultation into a clear illustration that she can make changes to if she wants AND it makes a great keepsake for the bride.
This is the sketch we came up with:
This is the final cake design.
I really like how the quilting turned out and the green orchids actually matched their pretty table centerpieces which had these little green pom pom type flowers in them.
