Liz’s Best Brownie Recipe

Liz’s Best Brownie Recipe

This Recipe is UBER delicious, especially if you like brownies that are more on the cake side then the fudge side (which I do). I also like nuts and frosting on my brownies (don’t look at me like that, I’m a cake decorator!) So definitely try these out and let me know how yours turn out! Post pictures, comments, I wanna hear what you think!
Happy Brownie Eating!

*note: this recipe was adapted from about.com’s ultimate brownie recipe with changes from me

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 25-30 minutes

Ingredients:

1.5 cups Ghiradelli 60% cacao chocolate chips
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup butter or margarine
5 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla (real vanilla)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Spray 9×13 aluminum pan with pam

Step 1.
Melt butter and chocolate in microwave by heating in increments of 15 seconds. Stir in between heatings until completely melted. Do not overheat or chocolate will burn. Once melted, stir mixture until smooth then set aside.

In a large bowl (or kitchenaid mixer bowl) beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla on high for 8-10 minutes. Ingredients will be light and foamy. This is what makes the brownies so delish!

Fold in chocolate mixture, flour, salt and baking powder until mixed (do not over mix)

Pour batter into prepared pan. I sprinkle the chocolate chips and walnuts on top but you can mix them gently into the batter as well.

Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Its easy to do with brownies so if you have to put the brownies back in the oven, do at 3 minute intervals. They cook faster than you think!

When finished, place on cooling rack for 30 minutes to let chocolate set. They will still be warm but you can now enjoy your brownies or add some chocolate frosting on top like I did!

This is what I really thought of this recipe

I made this brownie recipe the other day minus the chocolate chips and nuts. This is my go to brownie recipe now. All I have received is the comments of “Best Brownie Ever”. I love the taste and texture. Amazing recipe.. keep up the great work.

Hi, I was reading your post and I just wanted to thank you for putting out such great content. There is so much nonsense on the internet these days its difficult to find anything worthwhile. I actually have cooked this recipe before, I got this book last month on recommendation from a friend http://ninjahq.com/go/cookingrecipes and it turned out quite nice! I’m very eager to try your variation of it though, it looks fantastic. I think you might enjoy those recipes, they’re very good. Thanks for the article and tips.
