What are your hours? What does fondant taste like? How far is it from the earth to the sun? Most all the answers to these questions can be found here! If you still can’t find the answer to your question, just email me :)

How do I place an order?
Call me (503-350-1706) or email me (info@artisancakecompany.com)
Having the following information ready for me will speed of the process tremendously.

  • the date of your event
  • the occasion/nature of your event (wedding, birthday, etc)
  • the event location, delivery address, and delivery time
  • how many people you will need to serve
  • your daytime phone number
  • your email address
  • an idea of what kind of cake design you are looking for

Our bakery is open by appointment only, we do not have any cakes pre-made for sale. Every cake we make is custom made to order from start to finish.

Do You Have Vegan or Gluten Free Cakes?
Yes we do! We offer a variety of flavors to suite your needs. Check our our flavors page for more information or shoot me an email.

How Much Do Your Cakes Cost?
That really depends on the cake but they start at $100. If you are looking for a simple, no frills, need it later today kind of cake, we probably aren’t the type of bakery you are looking for. With that said, we put a LOT of time and effort into every cake from start to finish. We do offer cupcakes in smaller orders as well as toppers.

Do you ship your cakes?
At this time, we are not equipped to ship our cakes.

What is fondant?
Fondant is a type of rolled sugar frosting that is either draped over a cake or used for decorations. It is smooth and perfect for keeping your cake nice and moist as well as beautiful. We specialize in fondant cakes and do not offer any buttercream cakes (the one exception being sheet cakes or cupcakes)

What Does Fondant Taste Like?
Our fondant is home made and is quite soft and flavorful. If you have previously had a bad experience with hard/tasteless/thick fondant, you were probably eating store bought fondant or unflavored fondant. Don’t believe what people say about fondant until you have tasted ours!

What Are Your Toppers Made Of?
My toppers are all hand made, one by one using either fondant, gum paste or modeling chocolate (depending on the use). Sometimes they may contain support structures such as popsicle sticks or toothpicks but they are otherwise 100% edible.

How Do I Save My Topper?
Toppers are made of sugar. Sugar + water = melted. Just keep your topper dry and it should last forever. It is however, fragile so keep it in a dry SAFE place. DO NOT put your topper in the refrigerator or freezer. The moment it comes out, condensation appears (aka water) and say bye-bye to your topper.

Can You Ship Toppers to My State/Country?
YES! We ship many types/sizes of toppers all over the US and abroad. We wrap them up nice and tight after they are dry. Because every topper is custom to your order, please please allow for construction and drying time before placing your order. You can also see more of our most popular toppers on our Etsy site.

What is Your Payment Policy?
A 25% down payment is required for all orders before it is considered “ordered”. Orders that are under $200 are required to be paid in full upon ordering. Orders placed within two weeks or less are required to be paid in full upon ordering. Otherwise, after the down payment is made, a first installment of half the remaining balance is to be paid two months before the event date. The final payment is made two weeks before the event date. At this time, we will go over any changes to servings, design, etc and adjust your final payment accordingly. All cakes that are not paid for before the event date will not be delivered. That’s just the way it is :)

Do You Deliver?
Delivery is available for wedding cakes and cakes that require on-site assembly.

Delivery fees are calculated by distance traveled and are roughly $1 per mile each way. Our delivery range is roughly 1-4 hours from Portland, Oregon.

Longer deliveries are occasionally arranged, but must be determined on a case-by-case basis.

While it is generally not a problem for clients to transport smaller cakes, self-transporting any cake is at your own risk. Artisan Cake Company does not recommend clients self-transport 3D/sculptural cakes, cakes over 2 tiers tall, or to any destination more than 3 hours away and is not responsible for any damage that may occur to any client-transported cake once it has left our bakery

Are You Hiring?
At this time we are not hiring or taking on any interns. We do occasionally offer classes. Please inquire for details.
