Rock Candy Geode Cake
When I recently attended Cake Fest 2015, I had the opportunity to see many awesome cakes but there was one that REALLY stood out to me and it was this one. A gorgeous cake by Viki Kane of Just a Little Dessert Company. I was immediately transfixed by this gorgeous edible geode cake topper! HOW DID SHE DO IT?? I had to know! As soon as I got home, I begged her to create a tutorial. I convinced her that people would want to know how to create this geode topper that looks just like the real thing (and yes it’s totally edible!) I could practically hear pinterest screaming for it lol!
Get the geode cake tutorial here.
As soon as she sent me her video, I watched it with deep interest! I usually can figure out how something is done just by looking at it but I was stumped on this one! Viki made this technique easy to follow and I immediately knew I wanted to make one for myself!
I made my topper using her tutorial (which is now for sale!) for a recent moroccan boho inspiration shoot. You can view the full blog post on Hazelwood Photography’s website
