Hello friends! I have finally found a moment to post some of the wonderful photos from a gorgeous inspiration shoot at the Colony in St. Johns. I had the pleasure of working with super talented ladies from Something Borrowed (vintage rentals), Petalos (flowers) and Emily G Photography!
The Colony is a gorgeous venue with a modern industrial vibe. Each room has so much character and potential for a fantastic gathering or wedding.
Look at this gorgeous sitting room right off the main ball room! Would be a great area to set up a bar or more intimate guest area.
The main ballroom is so grand you can easily set up many different areas for your guests. Check out this gorgeous card table!
Fancy some cheese and fruit as an appetizer?
What event would be complete without some stunning table settings. There is another room adjacent to the ballroom that used to be a dance studio. Perfect for a low key reception, baby shower, bridal shower or any event where you need some space but don’t want to rent out a conference room.
Kellie and I had a fun time creating this fun chair backdrop for the ceremony! It’s harder than it looks to perfectly/imperfectly stack chairs in artful way. Thank goodness for zip ties!
Finally the dessert table! I made a bunch of desserts rather than one main cake. The vintage side board was perfect for displaying my desserts along with the vintage cake stands and platters. The lavender was the perfect accent and filled the room with a floral scent that mixed with the berries and sugar perfectly.
Rough iced chocolate cake with fresh raspberries
Lemon cake with fresh raspberries and swiss meringue buttercream
Nougat made from scratch! Pistachios, dried fruit and pecans.
Rustic peach frangipani tart
Mini desserts are so fun and much easier to serve during a party. These mini cheesecakes, ganache tarts and lemon curd tarts will delight your guests and their taste buds.
We had a lot of laughs and fun during this shoot! Thank you ladies!
