I’ve made this topper a million times (mostly because having babies just never seems to go out of style) and it is one of my favorites. Celebrating babies is definitely one of my favorite past times. Although I have no children of my own (yet) I do quite enjoy babies and babies + parties is just heaven on earth.

Baby shower cakes can vary vastly in theme from fashion to jungle animals. Colors can be anything from bright and colorful to understated and elegant. The one thing that all these baby showers do have in common though is mother-to-be! There is nothing more personal than a cake topper specially made to represent momma’s tastes like colors, features and sometimes accessories. I always customize my toppers to the client’s specifications (eyes, hair, skin color, outfit style/color and accessories). Sometimes we even make the father-to-be! Daddy needs love too :)

I use Americolor brand food color gels to color white fondant

Yes you can eat the toppers. They dry to be hard on the outside and soft in the middle (like a gumball)

    Thank you for the video!! You are amazing! I love your work! How would I make a lady topper that was standing? Should I build her legs and then let them dry laying flat or build her legs with a lollipop or toothpick skewered through her legs and styrofoam? How do you keep the standing topper balanced! Thank you!! :)

      Yes you have to put supports in the legs. I skewer them into styro and then build up from there. The skewers keep the topper standing upright. I really need to do this tutorial :-p
