Savor Cakes Food Cart to Launch via Kickstarter.com

The savory cupcake is hitting PDX via food cart!

Portland, OR – June 27, 2011 – After much planning and preparation, Savor Cakes is bringing their delicious savory cupcakes to the Portland community via a freshly renovated food cart. The food cart will be constructed from a 1959 Santa Fe camper trailer. The design is unique and has a “Steampunk” feel to promote the artisan quality of the Savor Cakes themselves.

Each savor cake is hand crafted using fresh and local ingredients and combined to create such combinations as bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy and even turkey meatloaf. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available as well. The savor cakes will be baked fresh daily and served at one of Portland’s most popular food pods. Prices range between $2–$6 for a savory concoction.

Savor cakes will begin construction on the food cart with the conclusion of their http://www.kickstarter.com event, August 11th.

Elizabeth Marek is the owner of Artisan Cake Company in Portland Oregon. She is a former graphic design who started pursuing baking in 2008. In 2011, she graduated from the baking and pastry program at Oregon Culinary Institute with honors. Elizabeth is dedicated to quality and artisan baked goods.
