This gigantic mountain of a cake was ordered for a very special grandson. He LOVES volcanos so of course he wanted on in cake form for his birthday! The requirements where for the volcano to be at least 2 feet tall and awesome. Sounds good to me!

The mountain itself is made from a giant rice cereal treat so it would be able to support the chocolate used to make the mountain look rustic and meet the hight requirements. The lava is made from melted chocolate and red, orange and yellow piping gel.

The addition of some palm trees add to the island look. The base is made of cake and frosted to look like water is surrounding the volcano. I was also given a small truck to put on the island as if it was getting destroyed by lava! A request by the birthday boy I am thinking
