Have you been to Departure in downtown Portland? If not you really need to make a trip. This modern asian restaurant is a feast for the eyes as well as the tummy. I was lucky enough to deliver a wedding cake to the gorgeous outdoor balcony where there is a gorgeous view of Portland! I love wedding cakes that tie into the theme of the wedding and the venue to become one seamless design.

When the bride ordered this cake, I really fell in love with the modern twist. Her flowers and feather color combination was a nod to her gorgeous bouquet. I love fuchsia and navy!

This is restaurant really beautiful inside and out. What a perfect location for a wedding reception! You really feel on top of the world!

It’s hard to decide what is more breathtaking, the view or the gorgeous architecture inside.

The lighting is truly exquisite. Really sets the mood for an intimate setting or a fun night out with friends!

This is actually my best friends favorite destination for delicious food and a really fabulous happy hour. Looking at the menu I can see why! The food not only sounds amazing but it LOOKS amazing! It’s like art on your plate!

If you are looking for an amazing venue with a modern asian look and feel I think departure is pretty much the perfect place for a wedding reception. Inside you have an environment that is truly memorable and makes you feel like you have departed to another place! A wedding reception out on the roof, overlooking the city. What an amazing way to celebrate your nuptials or in my case a birthday!

My bestie is taking me here for my upcoming birthday and I’m pretty excited! She’s been going on about it for so long and I’ve been dying to try the food! And since I’ll be turning the dreaded three zero this year I think starting it out on top of the city is a good way to go
